Some days ago I told you a little bit about Santa Clara city, Cuba, which we visited in a short and unexpected travel we made. Today I would love to share with you all, the rest of the pics we took during our trip and also tell you a couple of thing for those people that haven’t visited it yet.

This photos were taken in Vidal Park, which it is located in the center of Santa Clara and covers an entire square block of the city. Vidal Park is so historic and important in Cuba that it was elevated to the category of National Monument in 1998. Santa Clara locals still call Parque Vidal by one of its old names or either Plaza Central or Plaza Mayor.

In the center just off the gazebo there is a standing bust honoring Leoncio Vidal, the hero who died fighting in this very location against Spanish forces during Cuban Independence War, and by which the park takes its name. The first monument ever erected in the park is an obelisk dedicated to a priest who migrated from the coastal town of Remedios, in the same Villa Clara province, with the rest of the families who founded the city. Between these monuments you’ll find the now iconic statue of “Child with a boot”, the symbol of the city. The impressive bronze statue depicts a boy with a boot in his hand from which water fountain emerges. The original base of the statue was changed for a more contemporary red granite in the 60’s and it remained that way until the 90’s when in an effort to recover the original design, the city rebuilt in its original form.

South of this statue we can find another one: a 1924 bronze statue of Martha Abreu, Luis Estevez’s wife the first vice-president of the Independent Cuban Republic and a much loved resident of Santa Clara. The base of her statue is said to be a time capsule, since it has inside some papers, magazines and other objects that belonged to her, which have been collected during the construction and deposited inside it for future generations.

Taking advantage that we stay near this park that we took this pictures. We had an extremely hot weather that day so I decided to wear this lovely flower mini dress, you already know, that is one of my favorites prints and it is very especial because it is very light and fresh, so the perfect dress for Summer. What I like the most of it, is its wrap design and the lace in their sleeve.

I paired with these amazing red sandals which as I told before, they are extremely comfortable. When you travel for just a few days you have to optimize your bag, and carry with you pieces that can be wore more that once or clothes with only one piece, for example, dresses or jumpsuits, versatile pieces that you can wear during the day with sneakers or flat sandals but if you want to go out for a drink with friends, only add a pair of cute heels, and you are ready to go too.

Do you like it? What do you think about it? How would you style this dress?

If you like it share with your friends in social media and don’t forget to subscribe to our newsletter and stay tuned

Sending you a lot of kisses and so much love

Happy Monday
