How to style a polka dots long skirt for winter…..

A principios de año, nos dimos una escapada con amigos al norte de Estados Unidos, concretamente a Detroit. Seamos honestos, todos los extremos son malos y aún cuando el clima que tenemos en Miami, es envidiable para muchos, os tengo que reconocer, que para los que vivimos aquí, a veces nos apetece salir un poco del eterno verano de esta ciudad y adentrarnos en el más crudo invierno……

Nos alquilamos una casa rural, preciosa a la orilla de un lago, que como veréis estaba congelado, como en la vida todo tiene su encanto, no os puedo negar que aunque el frío que encontramos fue intenso, el paisaje nevado era digno de admirar, una belleza…..

Como ya habíamos hecho un poco de búsqueda para estar informados acerca de las bajas temperaturas, preparé mi equipaje basandome en eso, el plan no era tampoco caminar por la ciudad, era más bien de relajamiento y disfrute de un buen vino, leer un libro o simplemente sentarse junto al fuego de la chimenea. 

Esta falda de lunares, ya la habéis visto antes (aqui). Una de las cosas que más me gusta de ella, es el corte asimétrico y la combinación de blanco con naranja que escapa del blanco y negro de siempre. Lo combiné con este jersey de ochos, muy tupido y lo que lo convierte en una pieza muy cálida y abrigada perfecta para las temperaturas que teníamos….el toque final lo dieron estas botas por encima de la rodilla, que son bien cómodas. Son de tela y se adaptan prefectamente al pie, no se a ustedes, pero a mi, me encantó esta combinación. Estaba deseando combinar esta falda con algunas piezas de invierno.

At the beginning of January we traveled with some friends to the North of the United States. Let’s be honest, all the extremes are bad and even when the temperatures we have in Miami the whole year are enviable, I have to admit that for many of the people that live in Miami (including myself), sometimes need a little change, especially in relation with temperatures.

Then, we rented a lovely country house. It was really beautiful and huge on the banks of a lake. As you can see it was frozen. As many other things in life, every single landscape has its own charm, so even when we spent very cold days there, it was an amazing trip.

Before we went there I made some research about the temperatures and prepared my bag keeping that in mind, we know very well this place so this trip was for relaxation, enjoy with our family and friends of a good wine, read a good book or just sitting next to the fireplace…….

This polka dot maxi skirt, you already saw it here on the blog (here) what I like the most of this skirt is its color and design, the ruffles give it a chic touch, don’t you think? I really love the combination between summer pieces and cozy ones. I paired with this warm sweater, I don’t know you, but recently I really love how orange and green color looks together. The final touch to my look was given to these great boots over the knee, that I have to admit that they are so comfortable.
