Some weeks ago we make a short trip to Santa Clara, Cuba. As many of you already knows, it’s the country where I was born and grew up. Even when I’m naturally from Havana, my husband is from Santa Clara and we haven’t visit the country for many years and his family did not know our kid personally, so taking into account that we had some free days we decided to expend this time there. It’s a lovely city that I really recommend and it’s very famous because it’s where are the remains of Ernesto Guevara mostly known in the recent Cuban history as Che, among others interesting things.

Life there is so different in comparison with the rest of the countries we use to visit, I have to admit that our kid had a lot of fun, He was completely free to run, and he rode horse and goat carriages. He was so happy! Unfortunately, here we can’t leave him play outside without taking a look of him, we didn’t do it there either because he is so little already but when he grow up we can do it. I have so many great memories of my childhood…….

One of the places we visited was the place known as Toma del tren Blindado (The capture of the armored Train) Monument, it’s a beautiful place that I really recommended not only for the history that this place have but also as a landscape park so if you have children they can have so much fun freely.

It’s a place where a very important event took place during the Battle of Santa Clara when Ernesto Che Guevara and a group of young warriors derailed an armored train with a borrowed digger and homemade Molotov cocktails. This event brought an end to the Batista dictatorship and the beginning of Fidel Castro’s regime.

This historic event is commemorated with a museum of freight cars on the right place that this happen, marking the place where the train derailed and 350 armed soldiers were tossed over. The famous digger is also memorialized there.

Even when we enjoyed of warm days. the weather was great for make some tourisms around the city, I had been there so many times that I can’t count them, but never I walked so much like in this visit. Cuba has a similar climate as Miami, so the high humidity level is almost unbearable, especially that day.

For the occasion I chose this linen dress with the bustier inspired bodice that I have to admit that is so amazing, flowy and fresh that even when it was so hot I did not feel uncomfortable at any moment. I paired with my red sandals that you already know that I love them because they are extremely comfortable, I’ve never wear them to walk so much, but guys believe me, they pass the fire test (HERE). To accessorize my outfit I added this raffia bag that you have seen it so many times around here because it is my favorite bag when I travel, it is so comfortable and huge, so I can put inside a lot of things, a couple of golden necklaces and these maxi earring give to my look the final touch.

So, tell me guys, Do you like it? Have you visited this amazing island?
